The Pony & Trap is a country restaurant,set amongst the rolling hills of the Chew Valley farmland, under the direction of siblings Josh and Holly Eggleton.

Over the years the pub has picked up a number of awards including a Michelin star which was first awarded in 2011 and is still held today.

Since opening in 2006, we have always tried to channel the downright spectacular landscape that surrounds the pub; be that by working with local farmers or by serving the vegetables, fruit and herbs grown in our own garden.

We are stoked to be able to bring The Pony & Trap to the heart of Bristol. For those that remember, this isn’t our first   Pony pop-up – the Eat Bristol Fashion festivals from 2012-16 were pretty darn unforgettable and we’ve been angling to recreate them ever since. 

The team behind Breaking Bread is a collection of like-minded restauranteurs and event organisers. To say that we are delighted to bring this collaborative project to the people of Bristol is nothing short of an understatement.


This time around we’ll be bringing classic Pony & Trap dishes from our à la carte menu as well as some of those dishes we‘d planned to be serving earlier this year. The Pony and garden is thriving, and we have produce in abundance which will be the focus of our menus, as well as fish, shellfish and meat from our local suppliers. The Pony and Trap is currently temporary closed (we will be back!) but we’ve been given an unique opportunity to make some creative changes to the pub, ones which had been planned for far into the future. To be in the position to make these changes now is a very exciting prospect! More will be revealed in due course…
