Cooking over fire
On Bonfire Night we’re celebrating the occasion by bringing you a three course feast of dishes all cooked over charcoal on our asado fire-pit.
The evening begins at 7pm with an arrival drink, before we serve a three course dinner
(all indoors unless you’d like to get out onto the patio to have a nose at the fire!)
We welcome chef-owner of Kota (Porthleven, Cornwall) to the Pony & Trap kitchen as together we present a six-course collaborative menu.
Josh and Jude met while both appearing on BBC2’s Great British Menu together. It was there that they forged a great friendship, and they have spent the years following their appearance continuing to cook with one another through guest chef events at one another’s restaurants.
Jude’s dishes are individual and exciting, taking inspiration from his half Maori and half Chinese Malay origin, as well as, of course, the fresh seafood from the Cornish Coast.
There is always a wonderful excitement in the air at the pub when we welcome Jude, one that certainly spills out of the kitchen and into the restaurant – a darned good warm up for the festive period.
Dinner £58 / Drinks pairing £40
